Extra-long eyes on the Tapestry needle make it easier to thread floss and yarn, whilst the blunt point enables the needle to move smoothly between the weave of canvas, or fabric separating to ensure no splits. The Chenille Needle similarly has a large, long eye but sharp point to penetrate closely woven fabrics.
